Wales name squad
 Women's Football News 9 Jul 2012

Wales manager Jarmo Matikainen has named his squad for a friendly match with Korea DPR (North Korea) on 19th July.

It will be the first of three warm-up matches for the Wales national team before the final qualifying match against Scotland on 15th September in the UEFA Women's Championships Group 4. The other two games will be played in Belgium on the 5th and 8th August.

After the two fine victories for Wales in the qualifying matches with the Republic of Ireland (in Cork) and Israel (In Wrexham), Wales has a very good chance of qualifying for the Euro play-off's with a win over Scotland in September. It would be the furthest the women's national team has progressed in its history.

The squad shows two uncapped players, Cardiff City FC's Alice Evans and Jodie Botteril from Finnish club Aland United. A further connection with Finland comes with Hayley Ladd who has recently joined F10 Kokkola.

The match will be played behind closed doors, so not open to the general public.
