Forfar Farmington moved themselves into the running for the runners-up spot in the Scottish Women's Premier League by defeating second placed Hibernian 4-1.
The match was Forfar's first on their new 3G pitch at Station Park and they went into an early lead through a deft lob from Caroline Heron. Caren Webster doubled their lead on the half hour with Kirsty McLaughlin reducing the arrears for Hibs on the stroke of half time. Midway through the second half, Lucy Graham netted a third for Forfar from the penalty spot and Kelly Clark broke through to round off the scoring.
Spartans continued their improving form with a 3-0 victory over Aberdeen which cements them in fifth place. Diana Barry scored from a free kick to give the Edinburgh side a first half lead and they went on to seal the points after the break through two goals from Sarah Ewens.
Hamilton Academicals moved to the top of the bottom half of the table, thanks to a 5-2 win against Hutchison Vale. Cheryl McCulloch was on target twice for the Accies along with Cara McBrearty, Jacqui Seagrave and Toni Mason.
The Accies' victory has taken them ahead of Falkirk who went down to a 3-0 defeat away to Rangers.
Inverness City picked up only their second win of the season but did so in some style, running out 10-2 victors at FC Kilmarnock.
