Blackburn Rovers' promotion aspirations have been boosted by the arrival of three summer signings.
Former captain Nicky Twohig returns to Rovers for a fourth spell and is joined at the club by Steph Marsh and Vicky Westerman.
Rovers fought off some stiff competition to secure the signature of Twohig, who has gained Super League experience with Liverpool over the past two seasons. The 25-year-old is a brave and commanding central defender, who is a powerful presence in both boxes.
Marsh arrives at Blackburn from Everton Reserves. She is an attack-minded left back, who has good technical ability and a great attitude.
Westerman makes the move from Leicester City. She is a hard working holding midfielder, who has a lot of experience at this level and will be a big asset to Rovers this season.
Manager Scott Rogers said: "I'm delighted with the three signings that accompany the squad I have managed to retain.
"We are building a young and talented squad to compete at the highest level and these three players will complement my squad. They have all settled in really well and are looking forward to a long and successful season."
