Wales back on track
 Women's Football News 31 Aug 2012
Wales defeated Latvia 4-0 in Riga in their UEFA Under-17 Championshps qualifying group.
After a goalless first half, Wales opened the scoring seven minutes after the restart with a goal from substitute Emilie Revitt. Nine minutes later, the game was all over thanks to two goals in as many minutes, first from Allie Young and then Chloe Lloyd.
The Latvians had no answer once Wales had stepped up a gear and on the final whistle, Lloyd got her second to give her side a deserved win against the group hosts.
In the other game, favourites Norway beat Turkey 5-1, to go with their opening 8-0 win over Latvia. This means that Norway have now qualified for the next round before their final game with Wales on Sunday. The second place is still up for grabs and with it a place in the next qualifying round.
Wales Under-17: Angharad Jenkins, Lara Gait, Olivia Fuller, Hannah Bluck, Ashleigh James, Chloe Lloyd, Lia Lewis (sub Sophie Hancocks 77mins), Allie Young (sub Shauna Pentney 77mins), Georgia Williams (sub Emilie Revitt 40mins), Emma Beynon, Laura Mitchell. Subs not used: Delyth Morgan, Rebekah Gwyther, Francesca Curteis, Emily Curteis.
