Wales name squad to face Scotland
 Women's Football News 5 Sep 2012
Jarmo Matikainen has named his Wales squad for the forthcoming game with Scotland.
The match is at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli on Saturday 15th September at 6pm. Wales need to win the match and hope to see Scotland lose their final game to France in order to achieve a play-off spot in October for the Finals of the tournament in Sweden in 2013.
Jarmo said: "The matches just don't get any bigger than this. To be at the end of the tournament and still in with a chance of qualification is huge for us, but the team and staff deserve it.
"France are one of the top teams in the World in women's football and our group is certainly the toughest of all the qualifiers. However, we have come through it well and the game at Llanelli promises to be a great advertisement for the women's game.
"This will all come down to the players' performance on the day. Past reputations will count for nothing, it will be about who steps up on the day and I am confident that we can do the country proud. However, whatever the score on the day, I am satisfied that the foundations for the senior women's team are solid, though I think there is still work to be done at the younger age levels and with domestic football in Wales and the player pathway to advance as they go through the age levels and gain more experience."
