Arsenal in commanding position
 Women's Football News 26 Sep 2012
Barcelona 0 Arsenal 3 (Beattie 31, Nobbs 55, Chapman 67)
Arsenal are well placed to reach the next round of the UEFA Women's Champions League after a comfortable 3-0 win at Barcelona on Wednesday.
Jennifer Beattie, Jordan Nobbs and Katie Chapman scored as Laura Harvey's team - winners of the competition in 2007 - outplayed the Catalan side.
Playing at the Mini Estadi, in the shadow of the Camp Nou, Arsenal started on the back foot with Emma Byrne denying both Sonia and Marta Corredera.
But the visitors grew in stature and they took the lead in the 31st minute when Beattie headed home Kim Little's corner.
Ellen White twice went close before half time and Nobbs doubled Arsenal's lead ten minutes after the restart with a long range drive.
Steph Houghton struck the woodwork before Chapman got the third in the 67th minute when Sullastres parried Houghton's free kick and the captain converted the rebound.
