Reading FC Women ended the winning run of Millwall Lionesses in the Southern Division with a 3-0 victory which sees them close to within three points of the leaders.
Alice Palmer netted a goal in each half and Lois Roche was also on target for the Royals (see match report).
Reading are now up into second place, moving ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion who were held to a 2-2 draw by Gillingham. Kallie Balfour had given the Gills a first half lead but goals after the break from Kim Stenning and Catherine O'Hagan earned the Seagulls a point, with Jay Blackie netting the second for Gillingham.
West Ham Utd closed the gap on the leading sides and extended their unbeaten run to four matches by winning 1-0 away to Tottenham Hotspur, April Bowers scoring the only goal of the game on the half hour mark.
Lewes climbed up into the top half of the table after a brace of goals from Clare Trafford earned them a 2-1 victory over Queen's Park Rangers.
The honours were shared in the division's other game as Colchester Utd and Yeovil Town each picked up a handy point after battling out a goalless draw.
