Reading FC Women have opened up a lead of three points at the top of the Southern Division after scoring eight without reply against Queen's Park Rangers.
Francesca Kirby kept up her great run of form by netting four times, taking her tally to 11 for the season. Becky Jane weighed in with a brace and there was one apiece from Alice Palmer and Stacie Donnelly.
A win would have taken West Ham Utd into third place but instead they went down to a 1-0 defeat at Yeovil Town, who ended their run of six league games without a win. Stacey Pearson headed in the only goal of the game shortly before half time, only the fourth time the Hammers have conceded in the league this season (see match report).
Improving Tottenham Hotspur notched up their second win in successive weeks and are up into mid-table following their 4-1 success at Lewes. Wendy Martin took her tally to six for the season by scoring twice while Chloe Burr and Andrea Maccoci were also on target for Spurs, with Naomi Cole replying for the home side.
