Rotherham United are delighted to announce a new shirt sponsor for the season having linked up with restaurant chain Frankie & Benny's who have recently opened a new branch at Parkgate Retail World, a few miles away from Rotherham's home ground at Roundwood Pavilion.
Rotherham manager Simon Walker, hoping to guide the club back into the FA Women's Premier League after relegation last spring, has had to endure the perennial problems faced by sides who have been relegated, not least having to replace the better quality players who left because of relegation.
Having just managed to field a bare eleven in the opening two matches of the Midland Combination season (which they lost 1-0 and 8-0), things are steadily improving on the pitch with improved results and also a squad which has been strengthened in size and quality.
Walker was very appreciative of the cordial dealings with Frankie & Benny's in setting up the sponsorship deal which he hopes will prove beneficial to both parties and he did not rule out further backing from the American/Italian 50s-style UK chain whose branches link up with the local community.
The Ladies come under the umbrella of Rotherham United men who have this season moved to their impressive new home of the New York Stadium, a venue where he hopes the Ladies will get the opportunity to play at. Rotherham (men) use the facilities at Roundwood to train.
