West Ham Utd caught up ground on the top three in the Southern Division, courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
April Bowers put the Hammers in front shortly before half time but it wasn't until the later stages that they secured the three points with two further strikes. An own goal from Sam Pittuck doubled their advantage with seven minutes left and in injury time, substitute Anelle Massey marked her debut by netting the third.
Yeovil Town meanwhile strengthened their position in the top half of the table by winning 3-1 against Colchester Utd, who remain in the bottom two as a result. Laura Bray netted twice, taking her league tally to six for the season, and Jade Radburn added the other for the Glovers.
In the Northern Division, Nottingham Forest lifted themselves into third place with a 3-2 success away to Newcastle Utd. Amber Hughes, Aileen Whelan and Jemma Connor-Iommi were all on target for Forest, with the home side replying through Molly Collinson and Jess Havelock.
Charlton Athletic confirmed their place in the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup, thanks to a 3-1 local derby win against Millwall Lionesses.
However the Addicks needed to come from behind after Shauni Griffiths put Millwall ahead just after the half hour. Jenny Newman equalised for Charlton a minute ahead of the interval and two late goals from Gemma Shepherd, including one from the penalty spot, secured the win they required to qualify.
