A new and exciting initiative for girls football will be kicking off at two venues The Oxford Academy (East Oxford) and Cooper School (Bicester) in November, providing fun coaching sessions to Primary School aged children. The Kick-Start initiative will run from November to February (excluding school holidays) and is completely free of charge! This is a great opportunity for local children in school years 3-6 to benefit from learning new football skills in a comfortable environment, building on confidence, and making new friends. The programme of coaching will be delivered by FA Level 2 coaches (minimum) and will include fun games, with an emphasis on agility, balance and co-ordination. Leading on from this experience players will be invited to come along to our monthly girl's football festivals in and around Oxford. These events will kick off in 2013, and will coincide with celebrating 20 years of The FA's involvement of women's football. Festivals are fun focused and will allow the children to put their skills to the test with friendly small sided games and coaching, at no cost! For those girls who would like to take that next step into a local football club, information will be available from the lead coach. This is a fantastic opportunity for local girls in Oxford and Bicester to join a club, and play regular football on their doorstep.
