Ebbsfleet Utd became the first team to go through to the semi finals of the League Cup when they defeated Luton Town on penalties after the teams had battled out a 1-1 draw. Ebbsfleet went in front during the first half with a goal from Claire Gibbons, before Luton netted a second half equaliser through Michelle Byrne. The remainder of normal time and extra time could not produce a winner, taking the match into a penalty shootout.
Fleet goalkeeper Faye Baker turned out to be the heroine for her side in the shootout as she saved two kicks and scored one herself as they emerged as 3-0 winners. Fran Ferrari and Kirsty Lomas also found the net from the spot to seal victory for Ebbsfleet.
The other three quarter final ties were all postponed all will be played at a later date.
In the only match to go ahead in the league, Crystal Palace picked up their first point of the season when sharing a 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes Dons. Palace took a first half lead through Shedean Dyer but the Dons battled back after the break to earn themselves a share of the spoils with an equaliser from Emily Mann.
* No matches were played in the Northern, Midland or South West Combinations on Sunday.
