For the second week in a row, the only match to be played in the league was at Crystal Palace but this time the home side could not build on their first point of the season, gained the previous week, as they were beaten 3-0 by Cambridge Women.
Despite a good start from Palace, it was Cambridge who took the lead through Natalie Richardson and Laura Baker added a second before half time. Baker completed her double after the break to round off a result which moves her side up into a mid-table position.
South West Combination
Oxford Utd moved four points clear at the top of the table by scoring ten without reply against Gloucester City. Lauren Allison had a great day in front of goal, netting six times with one apiece from Lindsay Pinker, Stacey Coles, Holly Pickett and Natasha Caswell.
With second placed Keynsham Town not playing, Forest Green Rovers moved to within a single point of them with a 5-2 success away to University of Portsmouth. Annie Martin scored twice for Rovers along with Kirsty Richardson, Sam Hallsworth and Charlotte King.
Swindon Town cemented themselves in the middle of the table by beating Newquay 2-0, Abby Picton and Kirsty Shell scoring their goals.
Two late goals helped Southampton Saints pick up a 3-1 victory away to Keynsham Development. Bex Davis, Lucy Harper and Midge Browning were on target to secure Saints their second league win of the season.
Exeter City are through to the quarter finals of the Ambassador League Cup, but only after overcoming Plymouth Argyle on a penalty shootout. Emily Mousley put Plymouth ahead in the first half but the home side equalised midway through the second half, former Argyle player Leah Brooks getting on the scoresheet for the Grecians who went on to win 5-4 on spot kicks.
