Loughborough Foxes are aiming to claim another Cup scalp when they take on Premier League side Derby County in the Second Round of the F.A.Women's Cup.
The Foxes progressed with a fine 1-0 win over Midland Combination high fliers Leicester City, given to them by a goal from recent signing Lauren Struzcszak, and manager Steve Wilkinson admits that his side are looking forward to the challenge.
"We are obviously really looking forward to the next round," Steve told Women's Soccer Scene. "Having beaten Leicester in the last round, we feel very confident going into the game and hope that last season's experience of losing to Derby, at the same stage, will mean we are better prepared to deal with the challenges of playing a team from a higher division.
"Despite our league position, our squad has increased in numbers and quality since last year and this also makes me feel more confident about the challenge we face."
Loughborough captain Vicky Brackenbury also has strong memories of their defeat to Derby last season and wants to put things right this time around. "The Foxes are really looking forward to their tie against Derby," she said. "After losing last year to this team at the same stage in extra time, we are hoping to get revenge this time.
"Our team is stronger this year and despite the Christmas break we are hoping it will be a winning start to 2013!"
