Cardiff City FC have opened up a lead of three points at the top of the Welsh Premier Women's League, but only after coming from behind to beat Port Talbot Town 3-2.
With the clash between their two nearest rivals, Wrexham and Cardiff Met Ladies, having been postponed, the opportunity arose for City to take advantage and they looked to be on their way when Rachel Rowe gave them the lead after ten minutes.
However on the quarter hour, Jessica Curran levelled the scores for the home side and Port Talbot went in front midway through the second half through Coryn Sexton. Amy Wathan equalised for the league leaders and with four minutes left, Catherine Walsh settled matters with the winning goal for City.
In the other game to go ahead, Llanidloes put a halt to their recent three match run of defeats with a fine 2-1 success away to Swansea City. Jenny Broughall opened the scoring for Llanidloes on the half hour mark and Gemma Lloyd doubled their advantage six minutes into the second half. Chloe Lewis gave the Swans late hope when she pulled a goal back in injury time but Llanidloes held on to take the points.
