Wales manager, Jarmo Matikainen, has named his squad for the Algarve Cup.
This is an annual invitation tournament held in Portugal that brings-together senior women's teams from all over Europe and beyond. Wales has been invited to participate on a regular basis over the last ten years. The team will play three group matches and then a final positional game between the 6th - 13th March.
The first group match will be against hosts Portugal on 6th March at VRS Antonio, before they face Mexico at the same venue two days later. Wales finish their group by playing Hungary at Quarteira on 11th March and, after a further two days, play their final positional match, depending on where they finish in their group.
In last year's competition, Wales defeated Portugal and Hungary as well as drawing with the Republic of Ireland. In their final positional game, they were defeated by Norway.
Lauren Hancock, Carys Hawkins and Danielle Oates have all received their first call ups to the senior squad whilst there is a recall for Caernarfon Town striker Shan Jones. Loren Dykes is set to pass the 50-cap mark during the course of the tournament.
