Queens Girls through to Final - 20 Mar 2013 - Women's Football News

Queens School Girls Under-15s squad reached the ESFA National Final after an impressive 6-2 win over Corfe High School in the semi finals last week.
The game took place on the academy pitch and the girls took no time in making home advantage count, a long range effort from Laura Hooper was fumbled by the goalkeeper and dropped into the bottom corner. Laura then doubled the lead shortly after with another long range effort.
Jordan Littleboy chipped in with a wonder strike from the edge of the box, and Laura Hooper then completed her hat-trick just before half time.
In the second half, Queens did not let up, pressed all over the pitch and forced their opponets into basic errors. Queens were awarded a free kick midway through the second half which was delivered into the box for Jordan Littleboy to rise above everyone else and score a header. By this time the Corfe team were unable get into the game, and Aimee Durn as able to weave in and out down the wing and play a lovely ball into the box for Julia Waller to finish into the bottom corner and complete a 6-2 victory.
The other semi final is yet to be played, Queens will face either Laurence Jackson School (Redcar & Cleveland) or Arnold Hill Academy (South Notts).
Queens coach Kate Wilding said: "With over 380 schools entering this competition, scoring 61 goals and only
conceding six along the way is a huge achievement. Credit to all the girls who have been involved in the squad, they deserve this opportunity from the hard work and commitment they have shown this season. I am very proud of them and their achievements.
"A huge thanks to parents and staff who have supported us along the way. Let's hope we can bring back a National Cup for our trophy cabinet!"
Queens School Under-15 squad: Thea Issacs-Smith, Frankie Webster, Molly Wheeler, Laura Hooper, Clarisse Patel, Megan Gallagher, Cassandra Chase, Jordan Littleboy, Aimee Durn, Lilly Clark, Julia Waller, Sophie Faulkner, Abigail Layman.
