In the only match to be played in the league on Sunday, Middlesbrough moved themselves up into fourth place with a 4-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.
Sunday turned out to be another very good day for Stoke City as they continue to close in on the league title.
The Potters stretched their lead at the top to eighteen points by running out 4-0 winners over third placed Leicester City and this means that they require only four more points from their four remaining games to make themselves uncatchable. Chantelle Gallagher and Laura Garside each scored twice to give Stoke another important three points.
Leafield Athletic's nightmare run saw them go down to their fourth defeat on the trot, beaten 3-2 at home by Rotherham Utd. Amy Pollock, Nat Shaw and Jade Rabjohn netted the goals to keep Rotherham in with a chance of a top half finish.
South East Combination
All of the scheduled matches in the league were postponed on Sunday but there was some action with one game played in midweek.
Ipswich Town moved back into second place in the table, thanks to a 6-1 victory over Brentwood Town.
South West Combination
In the solitary game to survive the weather, Forest Green Rovers consolidated themselves in third place by beating Keynsham Development 5-0. Ellie Olds scored twice for Forest Green along with Abbie Sadler, Charlotte King and Annie Martin.
