New Arsenal manager Shelley Kerr was pleased overall with her side's 3-1 victory over ASD Torres in the first leg of their UEFA Women's Champions League tie.
"We got a victory, so we're absolutely delighted with that," Shelley said after the game. "We were disappointed to concede a goal as it could have been avoided but I think that in spells of the game we showed absolutely fantastic composure and our game plan was executed, but it needs to be for more of the duration of the game.
"We didn't always get the end product but we created chances and scored three cracking goals.
"It wasn't an easy game but you are always going to get a strong team at this stage of the competition. Torres are a strong side and are hard to break down.
"I'm delighted with the win and it gives us something to build on [for the second leg]. I have only had five training sessions with the team so far but they are well educated players and very professional in their approach.
"These are the games you want to be involved in and I loved every minute of it."
Rachel Yankey added: "We knew it would be difficult and so will the away leg as well. But we are confident we can score over there - as an Arsenal team we always believe we can score goals."
