Westfield kept themselves in the running for the London & South East League title with a 2-0 victory over rivals Denham Utd on Thursday night.
The Woking-based side needed nothing less than a victory to step up their challenge against a Denham side which had won eleven of their twelve league matches so far this season.
Lizzie Laws fired Westfield ahead after 27 minutes through a 30-yard strike which soared into the top corner and victory was secured deep into the second half when Laura Low scored with a close range finish.
A victory on the night would have taken Denham top of the table but as many as five clubs still have a reasonable chance in what is a wide open title race. Kikk FC therefore hold on to the leadership by a single point from Crawley Wasps and London Corinthians, who have both played more games.
Denham are a further point adrift in fourth, but with a game in hand on Kikk, and Westfield - who have played two matches less - are now six points off the pace.
