England have inched up the FIFA Women's World Rankings in the latest list to have been published.
Hope Powell's side have moved up a place to joint seventh alongside Canada, who they beat in the Cyprus Cup Final earlier this month and are set to meet again in a friendly at Rotherham in two weeks time.
Scotland meanwhile have climbed into their highest ever position, their Cyprus Cup performance having taken them above Russia and Ukraine and into 21st place, leaving themselves just eight ranking points away from the world's top 20. The team immediately above them are New Zealand, who they lost 1-0 to in Cyprus.
After having slipped a couple of places in the previous list, Wales are on their way back up again, moving ahead of Belarus to take 38th place. Jarmo Matikainen's side had a slightly mixed Algarve Cup but the highlight was undoubtedly a 1-0 victory over Mexico, who are ranked fourteen places above them.
For Northern Ireland, there has been no change and they remain in 55th position.
England are the only team to move in the top ten positions, with United States retaining their comfortable lead at the top from Germany and Japan cemented in third place, with Brazil and France following on.
The next FIFA Women's World Rankings list will be released on 21st June, just ahead of the Euro 2013 Finals in Sweden.
