The London Senior Women's County Cup Final was first was first contested in the 1994-1995 season.
In recent years the Cup has been dominated by Arsenal, Millwall Lionesses and Fulham. The success of the Women's Cup Competition has seen the number of entrants grow steadily and for this reason the London FA introduced the Junior County Cup last season.
The 2011-12 County Cup Final saw the traditional final of the big teams broken with two new finalists, Tottenham Hotspur and MSA Ladies both had interesting routes to the final and on the night Spurs were 4-0 winners.
This season the Final will be between Arsenal Reserves and Charlton Athletic WFC. Arsenal are currently sitting at the top of the FA Women's Reserves Division (Southern One) and Charlton are sat in seventh position of the National Division. Arsenal beat Millwall Lionesses 2-1 in their semi final and Charlton were triumphant against the holders of the trophy, Tottenham Hotspur, beating them 4-0.
The London FA is also pleased to announce that the UEFA Women's Champions League Trophy will be available from 6.30pm onwards for supporters attending the Women's Final to take photos of and get up close and personal with, while there will be chances to win tickets and official merchandise also.
The trophy's appearance is part of the build up to the UEFA Women's Champions League Final on 23rd May which is being held at Stamford Bridge.
The final will take place on Thursday 28th March at Redbridge FC, kick off will be at 7.30pm. There will be an entry fee of £5 for Adults and £2 for children nd concessions. Tickets will be available on the gate.
