City maintain nine point advantage
 Women's Football News 31 Mar 2013

Cardiff City FC kept up the pace at the top of the Welsh Premier Women's League by winning 7-1 away to Llandudno Junction.

Catherine Walsh, Kelly Bourne and Amy Wathan ensured that Cardiff were three up at the break, with Bourne adding a second a minute after the restart. Emma Jones made it five before Stacey Treadwell pulled one back for Llandudno, but Bourne soon completed her hat-trick and Wathan rounded off the scoring to preserve City's lead of nine points.

Cardiff Met Ladies also picked up a victory but left it late to seal all three points in their 2-1 success at Llanidloes. Steph Hugheson had given the home side a seventeenth minute lead which was cancelled out just before half time by Jazz Thomas. The game looked to be heading towards a draw but Emily Allen popped up with a winner for the students in the second minute of injury time.

Any remaining title hopes held by Wrexham have surely been extinguished after they were beaten 4-2 by Port Talbot Town. Wrexham had led at half time through a Syd Hinchcliffe goal but after the break, a brace from Sian Scannell ensured that Port Talbot were in front by the midway point. Hinchcliffe levelled the scores with her second goal but strikes in the last ten minutes from Lucy Edwards and Lauren Williams settled matters in Port Talbot's favour and enhanced their chances of a possible top four finish.

Aberystwyth Town's recent good run is showing no sign of slowing down and they have leapfrogged Newcastle Emlyn in the table after beating them 3-0. Kelly Thomas put Aber in front just before the half hour mark and second half goals from Sian Evans and Sam Gaunt secured another win which move them towards a mid-table position.

Caernarfon Town overcame an early setback to defeat Northop Hall 5-1 and keep alive their hopes of climbing off the bottom. After Alex Pugh had given Northop a third minute lead, Sian Jones equalised just ahead of the half hour and the Welsh international striker went on to complete a four-goal haul in the second half, with Katie Bowen joining her on the scoresheet.
