Glasgow City have taken over as the new leaders of the Scottish Women's Premier League following their 5-1 victory over Forfar Farmington.
Forfar did take the lead through Caroline Heron but Suzanne Malone equalised straight away and then netted a second to put City ahead at the break. Suzanne Lappin added a brace in the second half and Julie Melrose completed the scoring to put the Champions on top of the table for the first time this season.
Hutchison Vale had started the day as leaders but they lost their unbeaten record when going down 3-0 to Celtic, who belatedly began their campaign following two postponements. Abi Harrison, Emma Brownlie and Suzanne Grant all found the net to hand Celtic a winning start.
Hibernian lifted themselves into second place with a 7-1 local derby victory against Spartans. Susan Fairlie bagged a hat-trick for Hibs whose other goals came from Kirsty Smith, Lizzie Arnott, Caroline Weir and Katey Turner, with Alana Marshall netting Spartans' consolation.
Aberdeen notched up their second victory in successive games, a 2-1 success away to Kilwinning SC. Julie Fleeting netted her first goal for the home side but it was Aberdeen who went home with the points thanks to Rebecca Dempster and Nikki Wright.
Hamilton Academicals maintained their good start by scoring seven without reply past Falkirk. Toni Mason and Cheryl McCulloch each scored twice for the Accies along with Carolina Richardson, Helen Templeton and Karen McInally.
Hayley Cunningham led the scoring with a double as Rangers recorded their first victory, 5-0 at Buchan Ladies. Megan Foley, Natalie Ross and Rachel Halliday were also on the scoresheet for Rangers.
