England and Wales to meet
 Women's Football News 17 Apr 2013
England and Wales have been drawn in the same FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying group after the draw was made in Nyon.
Hope Powell's and Jarmo Matikainen's sides are set to go head to head for home and away fixtures along with the other members of their group - Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey and Montenegro.
England will start as firm favourites to finish on top of the group but Wales are sure to also fancy their chances of challenging for a play-off place.
Meanwhile for Scotland there is a sentimental draw for Head Coach Anna Signeul as her team will be up against her native country, Sweden. Northern Ireland are also in the group, bringing more all-British matches, with Poland, Bosnia/Herzegovina and Faroe Islands completing the line-up.
Matches will be played from 20/21 September 2013 to 17 September 2014 on a home-and-away basis. The seven group winners qualify automatically for the finals. The four runners-ups with the best record against the sides first, third, fourth and fifth in their groups go into the play-offs for the remaining UEFA berth in Canada on 25/26 and 29/30 October and 22/23 and 26/27 November 2014. The finals, with an increased entry of 24 nations, take place from 6 June to 5 July 2015 in Edmonton, Moncton, Montreal, Ottowa and Vancouver.
World Cup draw:
Group 1: Germany, Russia, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia, Sovenia, Croatia
Group 2: Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Romania, Estonia, FYR Macedonia
Group 3: Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Serbia, Israel, Malta
Group 4: Sweden, Scotland, Poland, Northern Ireland, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Faroe Islands
Group 5: Norway, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Albania
Group 6: England, Ukraine, Belarus, Wales, Turkey, Montenegro
