England Young Player of the Year, Alex Greenwood, has received two grants; one from the ICAP Beckwith Scholarship, a programme and the other from Stylist magazine's Fair Game Awards.
The first grant is from the ICAP Scholarship, which is part of the Youth Sport Trust's long-running Beckwith Scholarship scheme and has supported a number of exceptionally talented young athletes at critical times in their careers.
Alex, who plays for Everton and is an England Under-23 International, was chosen from hundreds of entries made by National Governing Bodies of Sport, who nominated athletes for their potential of international success.
The second was a bursary from adidas as part of Stylist magazine's Fair Game Awards, which the Youth Sport Trust has been supporting after being approached for their expertise in working with and nurturing young talent.
The awards were set up in October last year with the aim to boost funding and kit out upcoming female athletes.
"I'm absolutely made up." said Alex. "When I got the phone call, I thought it was a joke as I get so many funny calls, but I am so glad I picked up.
"To be recognised by the Youth Sport Trust and Stylist's Fair Game Awards is a huge boost; I'm very lucky. Both grants will be a huge help and will ensure that I can get the best equipment, nutrition and training to further my dreams of being at the top of my game. Football takes over my life, but in a good way; I love it!"
