Reading see double figures - 30 Apr 2013 - Women's Football News

Reading FC Women ran up a double figure tally in a one-sided Berks & Bucks Senior Cup Final against Bracknell Town to complete a club double on Finals day.
Fran Kirby and Becky Jane notched hat-tricks as the Premier League team, who had edged out Chesham United after extra time in their semi final, saw off their Southern Regional League opponents.
Jane opened the scoring on six minutes before Kirby on 7, 11 and 26 minutes completed her treble with neat finishes after outpacing the defence. Kirby then turned provider for Lois Roche to add the fifth on 27 minutes. Stacie Donnelly hit the bar from four yards in what turned out to be a frustrating evening for the midfielder who did everything but score. Jane made the half time score six from another Kirby cross on 43 minutes.
A quartet of substitutions for Reading failed to slow the tide of attacks. Bracknell keeper Jo Anderson made a series of fine saves but will be disappointed that Harriet Scott's shot escaped her and rolled over the line on 48 minutes.
Jane completed her treble from a Cheryl Williams corner on 67 minutes, then Williams scored with a left foot beauty from distance two minutes later. The experienced midfielder also hit the bar before rounding Anderson for her second.
An unfortunate headed own goal from a corner added to Bracknell's misery as the game entered the final ten minutes. It was left to Emma Jones to complete the scoring, her low cross evading everyone to nestle in the far corner of the net.
Reading have been prolific in their Premier League campaign and with all the key attackers in place on the day, the outcome was never in doubt. Bracknell stuck doggedly to their task of trying to contain the skilful, pacey and imaginative play of the Royals but were never able to trouble skipper Grace Moloney at the opposite end nor to keep the ball away from their own area for long enough to provide a breather for their overworked defenders.
Bracknell Town: Jo Anderson, Rebecca Powell, Sam Holloway, Caroline Gardner, Jenni Friar, Kim Lockyer, Joanne Atkins, Emma Constable, Caroline Paterson, Libby Shuttle, Amy Davies. Subs: Emma Turner, Sian Cleary, Emma Cooke, Caroline Bisson, Jennifer Mulleady.

Reading FC Women: Grace Moloney, Rachel Newborough, Harriet Scott, Charlotte Chard, Beth Donovan, Rosanna Lane, Alice Palmer, Stacie Donnelly, Becky Jane, Lois Roche, Fran Kirby. Subs: Cheryl Williams, Emma Jones, Jade Bradley, Elizabeth Mills.
