Derby County's Pride Park was the venue for the final of the ESFA Girls Under-15s final and a good strong crowd witnessed Queens' School girls crowned National Champions.
Queens' School from Watford & District SFA were convincing 5-0 winners over Laurence Jackson School from Redcar & Cleveland SFA. Jordan Littleboy grabbed a hat-trick and both Julia Waller and Lilly Clarke joined her on the scoresheet.
The game started slowly with both teams showing signs of nerves on such a big occasion. Queens' created most of the chances in the opening stages and this paid off with Julia Waller rounding the keeper to start the tally in the first half.
This is how it stayed until a spectacular second half performance by Queens' who added four more goals to the scoreline, making it 5-0 at full time. Jordan Littleboy scored three well worked goals and Lilly Clark added a great top corner finish.
Coach Katie Wilding said: "The girls were well deserved winners on the day; in every area we were stronger and fitter. The girls' desire and hunger to become national champions showed in the second half and I couldn't fault them; I'm so proud of them for all their hard work and dedication this season. It couldn't have happened to a nicer group of girls. Let's retain it next year!"
Congratulations to the whole squad for their contributions:
Thea Isaacs Smith, Clarisse Patel, Frankie Webster, Sophie Faulkner, Molly Wheeler, Lilly Clark, Megan Gallagher, Jordan Littleboy, Cassandra Chase, Laura Hooper, Abigail Layman, Florrie Holland-King, Aimee Durn, Julia Waller.
Manager: Katie Wilding, Assistant Coach: Tony Dunn.
