Leafield Athletic Ladies FC are pleased to announce that Tom Turner has joined the club as First Team Coach.
Tom has had great success as a coach at junior level and is relishing the opportunity of working in the senior game.
"I'm extremely grateful to the club for offering me this opportunity and I am looking forward to meeting the squad and working alongside such an experienced managerial team," he said.
Tom will join new First Team manager Dan Hearnden who, after 15 years managing junior teams at the club, is also making the step up to senior football. Hearnden succeeds Mark Smith who took on the position last season and did a fantastic job leading the club to their first ever senior final and a fourth placed finish in the Midland Women's Combination League. Mark will continue in a coaching capacity at the club, working with both the junior and senior teams.
"Having been with the club since its formation in 1997 and having had unprecedented success as a junior manager, we were delighted when Dan accepted the position," said Chairperson, Kevin Thornhill.
"His knowledge of the club, the women's game and his passion to succeed will hopefully position the club to continue their year on year improvement and once again look to challenge at the top end of the table."
Leafield are looking to add some quality players to both their junior and senior squads. Open Trials for juniors begin on Tuesday 11th June and for seniors on Sunday 23rd June. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or (07956) 858158.
