Floods of applications are being received for the forthcoming Essex County FA Female Centre of Excellence (CoE) trials and more are expected to arrive before 5pm on Wednesday 12th June as local talented players seek to benefit from the new licence which has been awarded in the last fortnight.
Girls aged from 7-17 have the opportunity to take part in sessions at Shrub End Sports & Community Centre in Colchester, and forms are now being collected at the County Office following recent news that Essex have gained an exclusive licence, one of only 31 in the whole of England. The search is on for around 80 players to fill the playing programme, which involves four hours of training a week and weekly fixtures.
There are opportunities for exceptional talents to be recognised as 22 games against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Middlesex, and Brighton are observed by FA national scouts, with elite players progressing through to Regional Elite Performance Camps and England training camps. The CoE is not only committed to the development of the players, but to the progression of its staff so they can have fun, learn and achieve to be the best they can be.
Player trials will be held at Shrub End Sports & Community Centre in Colchester on the following dates: Friday 14th June - 5pm-9pm; Sunday 23rd June - 9am-5:00pm (invitational). An application form can be downloaded from www.essexfa.com, which needs to be returned by Wednesday 12th June.
