Slovakia 2 Wales 2
Wales drew 2-2 in Slovakia on Monday afternoon in a friendly international after having twice taken the lead during the match.

The Wales team line up showed one new cap, defender Lauren Hancock of newly crowned Welsh Premier Women's League Champions, Cardiff City FC.

Wales took an early lead through captain Jessica Fishlock after only six minutes when she latched on to a pass from Sarah Wilstshire inside the area to shoot home.

The match was played in a temperature of 30 degrees and so the home side was very much at an advantage. However, Wales continued to make the running in the opening 45 minutes.

The half was almost done when a mix-up in defence allowed Slovakia to score through Veronika Rybárová tp make it 1-1 at half time.

The Slovaks made two changes at half time, but Wales kept to the same eleven and continued to play good attacking football in very warm conditions at the Technical Training Centre at Senec. Only five minutes were gone in the second spell when Helen Ward smashed the ball home to give Wales the lead for the second time.

After 72 minutes Wales introduced the experienced Michelle Green from the bench in place of Sarah Wiltshire. Seven minutes later, Hannah Keryakoplis became the second substitute, this time for Natasha Harding. Five minutes after that, there was a first cap for Catherine Walsh as she replaced Sophie Ingle. Slovakia had also made another two changes and were rewarded with their second goal on 63 minutes through Veronika Klechová.

Both sides looked to see if they could find a winner. A final Wales substitution saw another debutant make her bow - Georgia Evans replacing Helen Ward with just minutes to go.

The final whistle blew at 2-2, meaning satisfaction for both coaches. The sides meet again on Wednesday in a second friendly fixture.

Wales: Rhian Nokes, Lauren Hancock, Carys Hawkins, Lauren Price, Kylie Davies, Angharad James, Sophie Ingle (sub Catherine Walsh 83mins), Jessica Fishlock, Helen Ward (sub Georgia Evans 88mins), Sarah Wiltshire (sub Michelle Green 72mins), Natasha Harding (sub Hannah Keryakoplis 79mins). Subs not used: Alice Evans, Sophie Cole, Lauren Townsend, Samantha Quayle, Emily Brown.
