England fans are invited down to MediaCityUK on Friday 12th July to cheer on England, in their first match against Spain, in the UEFA Women's Euro 2013 Championships.
Fans will be able to watch BBC Sport live coverage on the big screen from 7.00pm, as the Lionesses take on the Spaniards, in their first bid to go all the way at the Championships. Lying fourth in the UEFA rankings, England are now a force to be reckoned with and the kick off match is set to be a thrilling contest.
To kick off the England celebrations, local primary schools are invited from 12pm-4pm to take part in football activities, coaching sessions and mini matches in an inflatable pitch at the FREE interactive fanzone. Games include batak boards, a speed cage, an inflatable target shoot plus a new trailer that houses the FA WSL and Cyprus Cup trophies and digital stations.
Following the schools activities, from 5pm all England fans are invited to get involved in the fun and activities as well as see live top class football. To add to the England party atmosphere, there will be hair braiding and face painting, all of which will take place in MediaCityUK. Fans can also meet their football heroes as Everton and England international Fern Whelan along with Everton's Lizzie Durack who will be in attendance from 5.30pm-7.30pm to meet and greet the youngsters.
To mark the high profile occasion the BBC will be broadcasting live from the venue and will have special guests going live on BBC TV and radio for the duration of the fan zone. In addition, for all budding football journalists, there is the chance to have a go at being a football commentator on the BBC Sport Interactive game.
BBC will be broadcasting all England's games throughout the UEFA Women's Euro 2013 tournament on BBC Three, BBC Two and BBC Radio 5 live.
