Lincoln Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of striker Aileen Whelan.
The 21-year-old striker, who was top scorer for Nottingham Forest last year, joins the squad and will be available for selection for the Lady Imps' first game back after the international break against Birmingham City next Sunday.
Lincoln manager Rick Passmoor has described Aileen as a 'hard working striker who runs the channels and links play' and, at only 21, is an indication of the long term vision Rick has for the club.
Whilst a player for the future, Aileen has already shown her credentials recently representing England at Under-23 level in the Triangular Tournament in Warwick, where she featured against Sweden and Norway.
Aileen has also had success for Team GB in the World Student Games, where her goals contributed to the team winning gold, including a 6-2 victory against Mexico in the Final.
After the additions of Lara Fay, Lillie Fenlon-Billson and Rachel Lee earlier in the week, Rick Passmoor is delighted to have further added to his squad. "It's fantastic to be able to bring in a player who has been in great scoring form," he said. "Aileen has a great work ethic and at still quite a young age her hard work and quality is only going to improve. which is exciting for us."
