Everton 2 (K.Jones 14, Duggan pen 27) Bristol Academy 3 (Scott og 12, Harding 20, Murphy og 49)
Bristol Academy have reclaimed top spot in the FA WSL after two goals and a defensive howler allowed them to claim victory over Everton on Sunday.

The visitors did not look as though they were detrimentally affected by the break for the European Championship. They only needed a point to overtake Liverpool at the top of the table but grabbed all three thanks to an assured performance at the Arriva Stadium.

They were helped, however, by some dreadful Everton defending. England international Jill Scott handed Bristol the lead in the 12th minute, steering the ball past a helpless Elizabeth Durack.

The visitors looked firmly in control until Everton equalised two minutes later through Kelly Jones. But more woe befell the Everton backline as they gave Bristol the lead in the 20th minute, with striker Natasha Harding stroking home after miscommunication in the Toffees' defensive ranks. Nevertheless, Everton were level again seven minutes later when Toni Duggan scored from the penalty spot.

Four minutes into the restart and Everton again bore gifts, with the unfortunate Billie Murphy ignominiously marking her debut by deflecting Natalia's driven cross beyond Durack.

The second half yielded little in the way of clear cut chances despite Everton piling on the pressure, but Bristol showed their title credentials as they stoically held out for the win.
