Cardiff City Women's first ever match in the UEFA Women's Champions League ended in a 3-0 defeat to WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo.
Cardiff were handed a tough baptism with their first group match against a team which has twice got through to the Round of 32 and were playing their 33rd match in the competition and it was Sarajevo who went into a two-goal lead inside the opening half hour, both goals scored by Amela Fetahovic.
Sarajevo completed the win when Alma Jasarevic scored the third goal with seventeen minutes remaining.
Cardiff are next in action on Saturday when they play NSA Sofia in their second match. Sofia were also beaten in their opening game, 2-0 by Konak Belediyespor.
