With Glasgow City away on Champions League duty, Hibernian took the chance to reduce their lead at the top of the Scottish Women's Premier League to five points with a 4-1 win away to Rangers.
Lizzie Arnott had a great day in front of goal, hitting a hat-trick with Clare Williamson adding the other to help cement Hibs in second position in the table. Rangers, who remain third, netted a consolation through Megan Foley.
A win would have taken Spartans into the top three but instead they went down to a 2-0 defeat at home to improving Aberdeen. Susan Murray and Loren Campbell scored the goals to move the Dons nearer to the teams immediately above them.
Forfar Farmington still head the way in the bottom section after they scored eight without reply against Kilwinning SC. Caroline Heron led the scoring for Farmington with a four-goal haul, Aimee Godfrey weighed in with a brace and the tally was completed by Abbi Grant and Gemma Collier.
Hamilton Academicals also made it three wins on the trot with a 4-2 success away to Falkirk. Cheryl McCulloch netted twice along with Ainsley Douglas and Caroline Richardson, the home side replying through Sarah Quilietti and Rebecca Robertson.
Hutchison Vale meanwhile increased the gap between themselves and the bottom two by running out 5-1 winners over Buchan Ladies. Michelle Russell was on target twice and she was joined on the scoresheet by Bryony Ross, Tracy Donachie and Laura Gavin.
