Boys and girls have enjoyed the Cardiff City Ladies FC kids soccer camps this summer.
The camps are running every Thursday and Friday throughout the summer for children between the ages of six and 14 with skills ranging from novice to club level. The first three weeks have seen a great success with attendance increasing each week.
The first soccer camp was a 'girls only' camp which ran at the same time the Women's Euro finals were taking place to really try and boost participation rates of girls involved in football. The second and third camps, as well as the remaining camps, have been opened to both boys and girls.
The football camps are being supported by Vauxhall and coached by two current senior Wales International players, Rhian Nokes and Lauren Townsend. Both of the coaches are UEFA qualified and also being supported by Viability to work for the club.
The camps are the cheapest in the city at just £10 for each two day camp. The children enjoy fun football activities which aim to improve their confidence, skills and ensure they have as much fun as possible, and make new friends. A fun mini tournament takes place in the afternoon during the second day of each camp where the children get to engage in some fun competition and put into practice the skills they have learnt throughout the camp. There is then a small presentation where the children receive a medal in their camp teams.
Speaking about the camps, Lauren said: "The camps have been a real success! The kids have been so enthusiastic and have seemed to really enjoy themselves."
If you would like any further information regarding the camps or want to request an application pack, please contact Lauren Townsend on (07812) 985598 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
