Ruthless Arsenal go second
 Women's Football News 21 Aug 2013
Doncaster Rovers Belles 0 Arsenal 6 (Flaherty 29, Nobbs 31, Carter 32,72, White 67, Houghton 76)
Arsenal continued their winning streak in the FA WSL and moved up into second place with a 6-0 win over Doncaster Rovers Belles at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Danielle Carter scored twice, either side of the break, in a match totally dominated by Arsenal. Gilly Flaherty opened the scoring with further goals coming from Jordan Nobbs, Ellen White and Steph Houghton.
The visitors were the first to threaten when Houghton had a goalbound shot blocked. Houghton then fired off target from inside the area and Nobbs had a shot saved by Nicola Davies.
It was no surprise when Flaherty put Arsenal in front with a header from Rachel Yankey's corner. Nobbs added a second, seizing on a loose ball before chipping the advancing Davies. Carter made it 3-0 a minute later with a low shot from inside the area.
Doncaster failed to test keeper Emma Byrne before the break, with a Sue Smith shot which went wide being their best effort.
Byrne turned Millie Bright's shot wide after the restart before White added a fourth goal.
White then turned provider, setting up Carter's second goal of the night in the 73rd minute. It was 6-0 four minutes later when Houghton scored with a superb free kick.
