"Eat, drink and sleep football" - a term which has been used many times over the years and certainly one which could be applied to Deryn Ahmed.
Deryn has been running Sheffield United Community Ladies soccer camps at Sheffield Springs Academy, Hurlfield Road, S12 2SF during the summer. Next week (27th, 28th, 29th August) she is doing a £5 per child per day to try to help families on low income from local areas as she has had kids sat watching but unable to join in.
The prime aim of the camps is to introduce kids into sport and see how fun it can be. The day includes learning ball control for the younger kids, while there is an emphasis on skills and tactics for the older ones.
The camps are open to both boys and girls, aged five through to teens of any ability and are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (10.00am to 4.00pm). All kids will require packed lunch, sunscreen and weather appropriate clothing.
Please contact (07576) 565515 or e-mail email@example.com to secure a booking.
Deryn plays for United ladies and also coached their Under-18s to the League and Cup double in the Sheffield & Hallam County Girls League last season. She is head coach at the camp and assisted by the other volunteers who are players at United.
Deryn recently won the Young Volunteer of the Year award as chosen by Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA in its 2013 FA Community Awards, presented by McDonald's.
