Paige Williams says that confidence is high in the England Under-19 squad ahead of their UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship semi final against Finland at Carmarthen on Wednesday.
The Everton full back caught the eye with a fine performance against Denmark in the last group match and scored the opening goal in a 3-0 victory and she insists that the team will be fully prepared as they attempt to reach their first Final since 2010.
"The way this team is now, we can take on anyone," Paige told Women's Soccer Scene. "We will attack Finland the same way we'll attack anyone."
The England and Finland squads have been staying in the same hotel at the tournament but Paige admits to not knowing too much about their next opponents. "We've seen a lot of them in our hotel," she laughed, "but our staff do a lot of work behind the scenes to prepare us for games so they'll probably have a strategy for us and we'll just try to put it into place.
"We have respect for any team and they have obviously done well to get this far. Confidence is high though and we just need to focus on the short term and not look too far ahead."
Katie Zelem, who also scored against Denmark, added: "We've had five clean sheets on the trot now, including phase two, so any team we face now we will have a positive mentality [against them]. We know that we're going to give it everything.
"We've not been the most successful age group, so to get all the way to the Final would be our dream. We have taken it one step at a time so now we have got to the semis, we'll just keep it going until we get all the way.
"We've got a great team spirit and we hope we can continue with that in the semi final."
