England to play Wales at Millwall
 Women's Football News 29 Aug 2013
The Den is set to stage England's third FIFA Women's World Cupô 2015 Qualifying match against Wales on Saturday 26th October (kick off 7.05pm).
Tickets are now on sale at The Den, for what promises to be an exciting game between two local rivals. England will be aiming to make it to their third successive World Cup Finals in Canada 2015, at the expense of neighbours Wales, who themselves will be looking to qualify for their first World Cup. They have also been pitched alongside Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey and Montenegro in Group 6.
The game will be England's third FIFA Women's World Cupô 2015 Qualifying match as The Three Lions kick-off their qualifying campaign against Belarus at the Goldsands Stadium, home of AFC Bournemouth, on Saturday 21st September (kick off 1pm). This is followed shortly after by a game against Turkey at Fratton Park, home of Portsmouth F.C on 26th September (kick off 7.05pm).
In order to mark a special year for the Football Association - its 150th anniversary and 20 years since it took over the running of the women's game, there is a series of special priced tickets to allow football fans across the country, the chance to experience top class women's football. Millwall FC season ticket holders can attend for £2.50, whilst those who book in groups of at least 15 people can purchase a ticket for as little as £1.50. With a family ticket costing only £10, football fans can enjoy a fantastic evening of international football at an affordable price, right on their doorstep.
England's 'Lionesses' last appeared at The Den in a 1-0 victory over Spain on 1st April 2010. A well-taken, first-half goal from Katie Chapman gave England the win in what proved to be a crucial victory over Spain in front of a crowd of over 5,000. The victory maintained England's 100% record on route to qualifying for the FIFA Women's World Cupô 2011 in Germany, during which England reached the quarter finals before bowing out. The players are hoping once again, that fans from across the country will come out waving their England flags and roar them on to another victory at The Den.
Millwall FC's chief executive Andy Ambler said: "We are delighted to be hosting another high profile international at The Den. Millwall have long been big supporters of women's football and hopefully the FIFA Women's World Cupô 2015 Qualifying match England v Wales will give south London fans the chance to see some of the top players in the women's game."
Prior to seeing the two teams in action, all football fans are invited to take part in FREE, fun football based interactive games, brought by Continental Tyres. Games include batak boards, a speed cage, a target shoot inflatable plus a new trailer that houses digital stations and the FA WSL, Cyprus Cup and Continental Cup. To add to the enhanced fan experience, there will also be hair braiding and face painting, all of which will take place outside the stadium from 5pm.
