Doncaster Rovers Belles 0 Birmingham City 3 (Wilkinson 39, Christiansen 71, Simpkins 89)
Birmingham City claimed a fourth place finish in the WSL after finishing their season with a 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers Belles at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Rovers, playing their last match in the top flight following their controversial relegation, started brightly and almost took the lead with 25 minutes on the clock. Full back Lyndsey Cunningham's searching free kick was only partially cleared by the Birmingham back line and the ball fell for Kasia Lipka to strike a powerful effort from 20 yards which clipped the top of the bar and went over.
But it was Birmingham who broke the deadlock, six minutes before the interval. Captain Laura Bassett's cross from the right was headed up in the air and the ball dropped kindly for Katie Wilkinson to volley her first goal of the season from 12 yards.
Wilkinson was unlucky not to add to her tally just after the hour mark when her powerful drive from the edge of the box thumped back off the bar.
Midfielder Issy Christiansen sealed the three points with a dipping strike from the edge of the box in the 71st minute before a long range effort from Emily Simpkins found the top left corner, via a post, a minute from time.
Rovers captain Leandra Little hit the bar with an injury time header, while Sue Smith wasted a golden chance for a consolation at the death.
