Gillingham power on at the top of the Southern Division table and remain three points clear after beating Portsmouth 3-0. Goals from Jay Blackie, Charlotte Gurr and Jade Keogh saw Gillingham notch up their fourth win in five matches.
Leading the chasing teams are Cardiff City Ladies, who lifted themselves into second place by scoring five without reply away to Chesham Utd. Naomi Clipston and Sarah Wiltshire each scored twice for Cardiff, with Beth Lloyd joining them on the scoresheet.
Remarkably, the next SIX teams are all level on points, six behind leaders Gillingham and three adrift of Cardiff. These are headed by Coventry City who ended the unbeaten start of Tottenham Hotspur by defeating them 3-0. The Sky Blues made a flying start with Nicole Dale and Kim Walton putting them two ahead inside the opening quarter of the match and Natasha Lynch rounded off the win with the third goal, three minutes from time.
Brighton & Hove Albion follow on in fourth place after they won 1-0 against West Ham Utd. The Seagulls left it late until securing the three points, an 89th minute strike from substitute Kim Whitcombe separating the two sides on the day.
Charlton Athletic joined the teams bunching up behind the leaders by returning from Keynsham Town with a 4-0 victory under their belts. Sam Pittuck gave them the lead just before the half hour and she added a second before half time, then after the break Jenny Newman netted two further goals to wrap up the win for the Addicks.
