Anna and Shelley receive world nominations
 Women's Football News 26 Oct 2013
Scotland women's national coach Anna Signeul and Arsenal manager Shelley Kerr have been included in the shortlist for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women's Football.
The winner of the annual coach and player of the year awards for women's football will be decided by the captains and head coaches of women's national teams, as well as international media representatives selected by FIFA.
Since joining the Scottish FA in 2005, Anna has led Scotland to their highest ever rankings of 11th in Europe and 20th in the world, and to the play-offs for UEFA Women's Euro 2009 and 2013.
Shelley was previously in charge of the Scotland Under-19 side before taking up the Arsenal job at the start of the year and led them to two domestic Cup successes as well as reaching the semi finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League.
Anna told www.scottishfa.co.uk: "It's pleasing to be recognised, but this nomination isn't really about me; it's about the development of the players, and the women's game, in Scotland over the past few years.
"My thanks, as ever, go to the players, clubs, volunteers, and everyone involved in the women's game in Scotland for all of their hard work. We will continue to keep striving to develop the game together."
The winners of the player and coach awards for women's football will be revealed at the FIFA Ballon d'Or in Zurich on 13 January 2014 alongside the Ballon d'Or (best male player), World Coach of the Year for Men's Football, FIFPro World XI, Puskás Award (for the most beautiful goal of the year), the FIFA Presidential Award and the Fair Play Award.
Nomination list in full:
Gilles Eyquem (/France Under-19), Kenneth Heiner-Moller (Denmark), Ralf Kellerman (VfL Wolfsburg), Shelley Kerr (Arsenal), Patrice Lair (Olympique Lyonnais), Silvia Neid (Germany), Cindy Parlow Cone (Portland Thorns), Even Pellerud (Norway), Anna Signeul (Scotland), Pia Sundhage (Sweden).
