Natasha Dowie is targeting a regular place in the England starting line up ahead of their World Cup qualifying group match against Turkey in Adana.
The Liverpool striker made her international debut against Turkey in 2009 but only added two more caps over the next four years.
But after scoring 19 goals in 21 League and Cup games as Liverpool won the FA WSL title, she has been involved in all three World Cup qualifiers so far this season, scoring her first England goal against Belarus last month and following up with another against Turkey a few days later. Now she wants to work her way into the first eleven.
"Now I'm more involved I'm hoping to keep my place in this squad and push into the starting eleven," she told FATV.
"I'm really pleased with how this season's gone, especially at club level and I've been rewarded for that. I was really pleased to get as many minutes as I did against Turkey and Belarus.
"I was pleased to get on against Wales and hopefully I can keep picking up those minutes and if I'm impressing maybe get into the starting XI because as a player that's what you want to be doing."
The 25-year-old also spoke about making her England bow, breaking her international duck and the fourth Group Six qualifier against Turkey. She added: "I'm confident we can go into the game on Thursday and pick up the three points that we need."
