Fratton Park hosts a women's league match for the first time on Sunday 1st December when Portsmouth will play Tottenham Hotspur in a FAWPL Southern Division fixture.
Since Portsmouth FC became community owned in April, links between the women's team and the senior team have been strengthening. Hosting a fixture at Fratton Park has been a high priority and is something which Pompey hope will become a regular occurrence.
Pompey CEO Mark Catlin said: "We are delighted to be able to stage this game and we hope it will attract a substantial attendance. The Pompey Ladies club is well run and organised and we want to give them all the support we can.
"The women's section is important to us as a community club and we want to continue to integrate it into the day-to-day life of the parent club. The ladies club are now using the official club crest with our blessing and we want to support them to progress.
"I see no reason why a fixture such as this can't become a regular occurrence every season."
Dave Coyle, Pompey Ladies Chairman, said: "Playing at Fratton Park is a big opportunity and thrill for all the players and they are looking forward to it immensely.
"We have a really good relationship with the new management and this gesture in hosting this fixture underlines the fact the women's team is increasingly becoming an integral part of the club."
In negotiation with the ladies' club, Pompey have put together some attractive ticket and hospitality packages to attract fans to the game, which will kick off at 2pm. Entrance is just £5 for adults and £1 for concessions and a family ticket for two adults and two children can be bought for £10. Tickets will be on sale from the Fratton Park box office and online from Monday November 11 and the game will be promoted at the forthcoming home fixtures against Scunthorpe and Southend.
There will also be sponsorship, hospitality and family Sunday lunch packages available and anyone interested in these should visit www.portsmouthfc.co.uk for more details.
Fratton Park hosted an England women's international against Turkey in September and attracted an attendance of more than 6,000.
