Women's Football News
The fifth annual Scottish Women's Football Awards Dinner takes place within Hampden Park on Friday 22nd November in Association with Ladbrokes.
Women's football remains one of the fastest growing sports in the world and in 2013 the Scottish game has seen a remarkable rise in terms of media interest, supporters through the turnstiles and progression on the field.
An increased media profile for the Scottish Women's Premier League following a brand re-launch in the summer has helped the league attract an aggregate attendance of over 10k this season.
At national level, the women's 'A' team have climbed to their highest ever FIFA ranking of 11th in Europe and 20th in the World.
Yet, there is more to Scottish women's football than simply the top flight. With over 6,000 registered members, and clubs from Orkney down to Stranraer, the game continues to grow and evolve at an exponential rate.
The Ladbrokes SWF Awards Dinner will bring down the curtain on another hugely successful year for the game and is an opportunity to reflect on and pay homage to those teams and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "We're proud to begin our association with Scottish Women's Football by sponsoring their awards night.
"We recognise the work that goes on to contribute towards the sport's rapid growth and wish all of the nominees all the very best for the night and their careers."
