 Women's Football News 21 Nov 2013
Birmingham City will play Arsenal in the quarter finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League after the draw was conducted at UEFA Headquarters on Thursday afternoon.
The Blues will have home advantage in the first leg, possibly returning to St Andrew's, while the Gunners host the return meeting a week later as they bid to reach the semi finals once more.
The winners of the clash between the two FA WSL sides will play either Tyreso FF of Sweden or perennial Austrian title winners SV Neulengbach. The Tyreso side in the last round included the likes of Marta, Caroline Seger, Lisa Dahlkvist, Whitney Engen, Caroline Hansen and Veronica Boquete amongst others, their starting line up containing no less than five American players.
Holders VfL Wolfsburg were paired with Barcelona and the other tie sees FFC Turbine Potsdam, whose side should include Lisa Evans, travel for the first leg to play ASD Torres Calcio.
The first legs will be played on 22/23 March with the return games on 29/30 March. Quarter final draw:
Tyreso FF (Sweden) v SV Neulengbach (Austria)
VfL Wolfsburg (Germany) v FC Barcelona (Spain)
ASD Torres Calcio (Italy) v FFC Turbine Potsdam (Germany)
Birmingham City (England) v Arsenal (England)
Semi final draw:
