Gillingham continue to stretch the pace at the top of the Southern Division and dealt a blow to one of their rivals as they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0.
Amy Taylor, Charlotte Gurr and Lisa Fulgence scored the goals as the Gills completed a double over the Seagulls to stay three points clear.
Cardiff City Ladies made sure of keeping in touch with the leaders with a 4-1 victory over West Ham Utd. An own goal gave Cardiff the lead midway through the first half and Sarah Wiltshire made it two on the half hour mark. The Hammers gave themselves hope when Cherrelle Albert reduced the arrears after the break but Kelly Aldridge restored the two-goal advantage two minutes later and Lauren Townsend completed the scoring for the South Wales side, ten minutes from time.
Portsmouth appeared at Fratton Park for the first time in their history but it was visitors Tottenham Hotspur who went home with the points and an important 2-1 victory under their belts. In front of a 700-strong crowd, it was Spurs who took a two-goal lead in the opening quarter of the game through Andrea Marcoci and Megan Wynne. Tiff Taylor pulled one back for Pompey on the 70 minute mark but Spurs held on for the win, although Charley Wilson did have a strike ruled out for offside.
Chesham Utd are off the bottom of the table after recording only their second win of the season, 1-0 against Lewes. Natalie Adams scored the only goal of the game to give the Clarets three valuable points.
