Swansea City caused an upset in the quarter finals of the Shared Access Welsh Premier Women's League Cup when they won 2-1 away to Cardiff City FC.
The game was goalless at half time but Swansea opened the scoring ten minutes after the restart through Katy Hosford. Shanelle Edwards levelled the scores midway through the half but five minutes later, Lauren Hancock sent the Swans into the last four.
League leaders Cardiff Met Ladies successfully negotiated a tricky tie away to Newcastle Emlyn with a 4-1 victory. Ellie Sargent gave the students a fifth minute lead which was doubled by Laura Walkley, before Amanda John pulled a goal back for the home side on the stroke of half time. Walkley put Cardiff Met back in control on 64 minutes with her second goal and Sargent also completed her double to wrap up the win.
Port Talbot Town also booked their place in the semi finals with a 3-0 win against Aberystwyth Town. Two goals in a two minute spell midway through the first half, scored by Lauren Williams and Lauren Amor, helped Port Talbot on their way and they made the game safe with six minutes remaining when Lauren Smith netted the third.
The semi final line up is completed by Llanidloes who travelled to North Wales and returned with a 2-0 success over Caernarfon Town under their belts. Lowri Savage opened the scoring for the mid-Wales side, who are having a good season, on 36 minutes and Kate Thomas clinched the win with the second goal deep into the second half.
